Scott mentioned he wasn't sure how the lighting will be lit for the 10/31 concert event. He believes it may be too dark, also, he said it was ok for us to get close to the stage in order for us to get close up shots of the band. Also, Scott did mention he has several stocked footage of the band playing from previous events.
In terms of being able to film any shots of the band prior to the concert, he said his drummer won't be back until after 10/20. Also, the band does rehearse on Mondays & Thursdays during the evening near a downtown location, however, not every member of the band has been showing up for practice lately due to other personal commitments. He mentioned it has been a tough semester for them as a group, not to mention he originally was told that we were building a 3d Animation video as oppose to a live action music video.
My proposal is for us to build a story around the music track and inter cut it with bits and pieces of shots of the band. We can try and show up to any one of the band's rehearsals and get some shots of them playing along with with getting some footage from the 10/31 concert. Also, Scott did mention he has several stocked footage of the band playing from previous events.
Let me know what you guys feel about this. I'm willing to remain attached to this project and try to work around some of these issues.

Thanks for getting this info Alex. I think we will be fine with the commitment that the band is allowing us to shoot up close during their Halloween show. I think it would be best if we all have our own ideas for a secondary location that we can hopefully schedule to shoot for sometime between Thursday and Sunday when we still have access to the cameras. When we choose the winning storyboards we can work out the details of the second location... Maybe we can arrange to get the other shots Saturday during the day before their show? (Michelle doesn't want only live show shots.) Where did Scott hear that we were going to do a 3D animation? We don't have to rule that out if anyone wants to incorporate some 3D work into their concept.
ReplyDeleteIt was my understanding that this project had to be live video. If we can dodge that rule I would be all for doing an animation or stop motion project.
